こんな大きなスイカを頂いた。
I have received a huge watermelon.

スイカを解体していく。半分、４分の１、８分の１。いつもだったらさらに細かく等分して頂くのだが今回は８分の１ずつ頂く。こんな食べ方をするのは小学生以来だ。大人になるとこんな食べ方もそうそうしなくなる。
Dismantle the watermelon. Cut in a half, a quarter,one eighth. I usually cut into smaller pieces but this time is one eighth. When is the last time I ate watermelon like this? Probably when I was 8 or so. (Long time ago.) Grown-ups don't do this often unless you have big mouth.

甘さをエリア分けしてみた。Aは極甘　Bは甘　Cはキュウリ　Dは固いである。

皆既日食みた？いやテレビで。名古屋場所見た？いやテレビで。
テレビのデジタル放送の画質があまりにもきれいなため前の方に座っている観客を見る方がおもしろく相撲に集中できない。そういう楽しみ方もありなのかも。
Have I seen solar sclipse? Yeah but only on TV. Have I seen Sumo in Nagoya tour? Yeah but only on TV.　The quality of the digital broadcasting on TV is amazing. It is more fun to observe the adudience rather than watching the acual game. Perphaps it is a new way to enjoy the TV show.
 
懐かしのデポちゃんがプリントされているグラスを目撃した。８９年の名古屋で行われた世界デザイン博のマスコットだったんだよね。デポちゃん何がモチーフなのかちょっと分かんないのがいいね。芋虫なのか、弱そうなコブラなのかはたまたスヌーピーの耳が風でめくれたに見えなくもないものね。名古屋はねデザイン都市宣言してるんだけどそれについてはおいおい掘り下げたい。
I run into a used glass with "DEPO-CHAN" prints on it. DEPO-CHAN was the mascot for the International Design Expo which was held in Nagoya in 89. I enjoy umbiguity of DEPO-CHAN. I mean what the heck is he/she? Caterpillar?　Harmless cobra? Snoopy with his ear was flipped by the strong wind or something? Nagoya declare as a Design City. I would like to dissect it eventually.
